Liberia Peacebuilding Training

Description

The purpose of this training is to support the work of the Peacebuilding Office of Liberia and strengthen conceptual and practical knowledge, skills-base and implementation capacity in the field of peacebuilding in Liberia. The training is aimed at identifying and creating better understanding between the various actors involved in consolidating the peacebuilding process in Liberia. It also aims at promoting cooperation among the various actors and supporting a common agenda in the peacebuilding process. The expected outcome of this training is to promote coordination amongst the various stakeholders involved to support the consolidation of the peacebuilding efforts in Liberia.

Peacebuilding Lessons Learned and Policy Seminar

Description

The seminar aims to provide a review, among a variety of stakeholders, of peacebuilding processes on the African continent, the various forms of engagement and responses which have been undertaken, and the policy processes and frameworks that underpin peacebuilding efforts on the continent. The workshop will seek to generate comparative and unique lessons learned and best practice, and assess current policy frameworks in relation to these. The workshop will also seek to assess current thematic issues in peacebuilding, and to generate recommendations for the way forward in these.

Sudan Peacebuilding Training

It also aims to focus on core peacebuilding areas as relevant to the peacebuilding process in Sudan.

Joint Peacebuilding Training

Description

The African Peacebuilding Coordination Programme (APCP) at ACCORD is hosting a two-week Peacebuilding Training Course and Study Tour to South Africa from 19 – 30 October 2009. This course will bring together key peacebuilding actors from the four focus countries of the APCP (Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Liberia and Sudan) for comprehensive and intensive peacebuilding training, drawing on the experiences and expertise of the participants. The training will cover the conflict spectrum as well as peacebuilding dimensions and a range of topical issues in peacebuilding processes on the continent.
