Finnish government representatives visit ACCORD

On 26 November Ms Marjaana Sall, the Minister Councillor at the Finnish Embassy in Pretoria, along with Mr. Asko Luukkainen from the Africa and Middle East Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Finland, visited ACCORD House.

During the visit Ms Sall officially signed a new three-year grant agreement with ACCORD for the Government of Finland to fund the African Peace-building Co-ordination Programme (PCP), which is a new programme at ACCORD. The Government of Finland previously funded the African Civil Military Co-ordination programme (CIMIC) at ACCORD. The PCP will shift focus away from civil military co-ordination to address the need for system wide co-ordination at a country level in a peace-building operation context.
