The Director-General of the Technical Unit for the Coordination of Humanitarian Assistance in Angola (Unidade Técnica de Coordenação da Ajuda Humanitária-UTCAH), Pedro Walipi Calenga, considered, yesterday, that the conjunction of efforts between the government and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) is crucial for development in Angola.
ACCORD’s Angola Intervention will be hosting a one-day dialogue session in conflict analysis and peace building for civil society organisations in Angola on 11 February 2008. The dialogue session will take place in Lubango, Huíla Province, and will discuss topics related to gender, community reintegration and strategies for strengthening civil society.
ACCORD’s Angola Intervention will be hosting a three-day conflict management training for government officials from the Lunda Sul and Huambo provinces in Angola from 13-15 November 2007.
ACCORD’s Angola Country Programme (ACP) will be hosting a three-day conflict management training session for civil society in Angola from 27-29 August 2007. Civil society representatives and conflict resolution practitioners will be assisted to analyse and understand current socio-political challenges facing the country
A two-day dialogue session with the theme ‘Conflict Analysis and Peace Building in Angola’ was successfully hosted by ACCORD’s Angola Country programme from 2-3 May 2007 in Luanda, Angola.
The Angola Country Programme at ACCORD will be hosting a conflict management training for twenty community leadership representative in the province of Huambo from 13 - 15 February 2007. The objectives of the training are to provide community leaders with the necessary skills to resolve conflict at a community level, and to enhance their leadership skills.
ACCORD’s Angola Intervention will be conducting a four-day Training of Trainers (ToT) course in the Huambo province of Angola from 19-22 November 2007. In October 2006, and February and July 2007, the Angola Intervention conducted advanced conflict management trainings for civil society in Angola.
From 29 October to 1 November, ACCORD’s Angola Intervention presented a seminar to develop a monitoring and evaluation system for peace-building initiatives in Angola and other post-conflict countries.
The Angola Country Programme at ACCORD will be hosting a one-day dialogue session for civil society on 2 July 2007, under the theme Conflict Analysis and Peace building in Angola. Thirty participants from the provinces of Lunda Norte, Lunda Sul, Moxico and Luanda are expected to attend the session; among them will be civil society members and conflict resolution practitioners and experts.
The Angola Country Programme at ACCORD will be hosting a three day dialogue session for sixteen conflict resolution experts and practitioners in Luanda, Angola from 2-4 May 2007.
ACCORD’s Angola Country Programme will be hosting an advanced conflict management training for civil society in the province of Huambo from 6 -10 February 2007. Participants attending the course have been selected from the provinces of Huambo, Bié, Huila, and Cuenene.
