South African Military Ombud visits the ACCORD House for an experience sharing and brainstorming workshop.

ACCORD hosted the South African Military Ombud for a three day workshop to prepare the South African Military Ombud to host their first International Conference of Ombuds Institutions for the Armed Forces (ICOAF).

To prepare for the conference and present their ideas at the conference at the 9th ICOAF scheduled to take place in England in October 2017, staff from the South African Military Ombud visited the ACCORD House for an experience sharing and brainstorming workshop from 6-8 September 2017 in Durban. The workshop focused on various topics including conference hosting, branding, legacy creation and a discussion on the theme for the 10ICAOF.

The International Conference of Ombuds Institutions for the Armed Forces (ICOAF) brings together military ombudsman from around the world to discuss a range of topics relevant to military ombudsman, from the operations of their offices to the changing nature of their work. The 10th conference will be hosted by the South African Military Ombud in 2018 and will be the first time the conference is hosted in Africa.

ACCORD will meet with the South African Military Ombud on their return from England to continue assisting towards the 10th conference scheduled to take place in 2018.
