Chantal Kanyange joined ACCORD’s Burundi Programme in August 2005 as Program Assistant with the hope that through her work she would be able to make a contribution to the peace building and reconciliation process in Burundi, and in Africa in general. In August 2006, she was appointed as Junior Program Officer in the PCTAP (Post-Conflict Transition Assistance Program) Project that ACCORD is conducting in partnership with DAI (Development Alternatives, Inc.). She is currently based in the ACCORD office in Bujumbura, and focuses mainly on human rights.
Mrs. Kanyange is completing her B.A. degree in translation and interpretation at the University of Ngozi. Before joining ACCORD, she worked for the Electoral Observation Mission of the European Union (EU) in Burundi as an interpreter. Outside work Ms. Kanyange enjoys reading, as well as sports such as volleyball.
