The Roundtable Discussion on the Impact of Climate Change on Peace Operations, held on 28 March 2025 in Pretoria, South Africa, convened a diverse group of stakeholders from the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), the African Union’s Political Affairs, Peace and Security (AU PAPS) Department, the UN Office to the AU (UNOAU), the recently concluded Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) Mission in Mozambique (SAMIM), civil society, academia and diplomatic missions to examine the growing influence of climate change on peace operations in Africa.
