ASC Core Group Meeting to review work done throughout 2016 and begin planning for the year ahead.

On 1-2 December 2016, ACCORD had the privilege of hosting the African Standby Capacity (ASC) Core Group Meeting which was constituted by the Rostering and Capacity Development Units of the African Union Peace Support Operations Division and partners; ACCORD and GIZ Addis and GIZ Abuja. The Core Group meets once annually at the end of each year to review the activities of the passing year and plan activities for the year ahead. The Meeting further provides partners the opportunity to make specific financial commitments on which areas to support as guided by the available resources outlined in the 2017 Work Plan. ACCORD/TfP’s overall objective in participating in the core group meetings and activities is to support concerted efforts at building a pool of ready-to-deploy civilian experts through the support ACCORD gives to rostering and training of these experts.
