Boemo Sekgoma

Secretary General of the SADC Parliamentary Forum

Ms Boemo Sekgoma is the Secretary General of the SADC Parliamentary Forum (SADC-PF), which is the apex inter-parliamentary organisation in the Southern African region that regroups Parliamentarians from 15 SADC Member Parliaments.  Ms Sekgoma has a staunch experience of over 14 years working with Parliaments, in particular by advancing SRHR and HIV/AIDS Governance from a UHC perspective and promoting a culture of human rights through targeted inter-parliamentary interventions. In addition, she has coordinated several parliamentary initiatives towards the elimination of HIV/AIDS such as the ongoing implementation of the SADC Model Law on HIV (2008) and the Minimum Standards for Key Populations in the context of HIV (2018).  As CEO of the SADC-PF, she is committed to driving the Forum forward towards its Vision to be the Flag-Bearer of Democratisation and Socio-Economic Development in the SADC region, and to make the region become a hub for parliamentary excellence and innovation.
