Ovigwe Eguegu is an Analyst with a special focus on geopolitics, diplomacy and international institutions. His thematic areas of expertise includes, African Union, Africa-China relations.  

He is frequently quoted in news media, and has appeared on or given commentary to a range of platforms including Al Jazeera English, CGTN, DW News, BBC radio, Bloomberg, and CNN.

He is a contributing writer at Foreign Policy magazine, the China-Africa Project, and the Africa Report. As well as a member of the China-Africa expert network.

His work focuses on policy-oriented study of Chinese foreign policy and relations between China and African countries as well as China and the AU, deepening the understanding of how Africa, as a complex set of actors, relates with China and how China’s development and evolving global role is likely to impact the future of Africa.

His work also includes assessing trend developments and risks, as well as providing expertise on geoeconomic due diligence and systemic risks in Africa.

Ovigwe holds a postgraduate diploma in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution from the National Open University of Nigeria.
