Stephanie De Freitas

Stephanie is the Researcher in the Executive Directors Office where she is responsible for assisting ACCORD’s Executive Director by sourcing, analysing and drafting material for various events, presentations, news briefs and editorials. In addition, Stephanie runs the social media accounts and assists with the maintenance and upkeep of the ACCORD website.

Previously, Stephanie worked as a Programme Officer within the Peacebuilding Unit of ACCORD where she was responsible for the implementation of unit activities, research, monitoring and drafting programme reports as well as maintaining a cooperative network with programme partners.

Stephanie has been with ACCORD since June 2014.

Stephanie has a Master’s degree in Governance and Political Transformation from the University of the Free State, following the completion of a post graduate degree in Conflict Transformation and a Bachelors of Social Science degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Her research interests are centred towards peace and reconciliation, counterterrorism, international relations and gender. She has gained experience in various conflict transformation fields such as peacekeeping, peace and security, mediation, including a research background on counterterrorism and governance.
