Professor Urmilla Bob is Full Professor in the Discipline of Geography, School of Agriculture, Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (Westville Campus), Durban, South Africa. She conducts research on a range of de- velopmental and environmental issues, including socio-economic impact assessments of developmental projects in relation to conservation and ecotourism projects as well as sustainable livelihoods in both rural and urban contexts. She has published in these fields in both nationally and internationally recognised academic books and journals. Furthermore, in terms of collaborative national and international projects, she is cur- rently involved in projects that focus on climate change, solar energy implementation, Change Fellowship Programme.
