The Seventh European Union Community of Practice on Peace Mediation (EU CoP25) was held on 27–28 October 2025 in Brussels and online, under the theme “Securing Peace: Opportunities for Peace Mediation in a Changing Landscape.” ACCORD attended the online session on 27 October 2025.
The event brought together peace practitioners, civil society representatives, policymakers, and international actors from around the globe to exchange experiences and explore strategies for peace mediation. The sessions provided in-depth analysis of the geopolitics of mediation, particularly in the context of Sudan and its complex humanitarian crisis. Additionally, the discussions examined the role of digital spaces and how they can impact peacebuilding efforts.
Recommendations were presented with a specific focus on the role of the youth and community actors to become more effective and efficient players in conflict prevention and mediation. ACCORD will remain engaged on the platform to share mediation practices from an African perspective.
