The Senior Programme Officer for the Training for Peace (TfP) Programme, Ms. Yvonne Kasumba, is presently participating in a United Nations (UN) Civilian Staff Officer Course (UNCIVSOC) hosted by the Swedish Armed Forces International Centre (SWEDINT) in Kungsängen, Sweden.
The course is targeted at civilian representatives at the middle-management level from the UN, Governmental or Non Governmental Organizations (NGOs) and aims to better prepare them for working in Peace Support Operations led by the UN and/or a regional organization. The main emphasis of the course is on the integrated missions concept and as such, a main feature throughout is on cooperation and coordination between the military, police and civilian components.
