SA and Swedish police services visit ACCORD

On Sunday, 22 April, a delegation from the South Africa Police Services, lead by the Deputy National Commissioner of Police, Ms Mala Singh, along with representatives from the Swedish Police Services and a representative from the Swedish Embassy in Pretoria, visited ACCORD House where they met with the Founder and Executive Director of ACCORD, Mr. Vasu Gounden.

South Africa and Sweden work together on a joint programme that provides capacity-building for the Rwandan Police Services, which has run since the 1990s. The delegates were in Durban for a related meeting with their counterparts from the Rwandan Police Force.

While at ACCORD the delegation were briefed by Mr. Gounden on the work that ACCORD is doing in its Peace and Security Unit, under the Training for Peace and CIMIC programmes, as that work relates to civilian policing.
