Faith Chelangat Tonui

Coordinator for the International Service Worker Programme at Mennonite Central Committee

Faith Chelangat Tonui is a Kenyan peacebuilder and Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) professional with over eight years of experience advancing governance, humanitarian, and rights-based programmes across East Africa and the Horn of Africa. She is a Rotary Peace Fellow and holds an MA in Peace and Conflict Studies from Uppsala University, Sweden, alongside a BSc in Disaster Management and International Diplomacy. Her work bridges civil society, regional institutions, and faith-based organisations, with a focus on inclusive programming and evidence-driven decision-making.

Her research interests span grassroots mobilisation and localisation, youth engagement in peacebuilding, and women’s leadership in advocacy processes. She is particularly committed to exploring intergenerational approaches to peacebuilding and the role of communities in shaping sustainable conflict resolution strategies.

Faith is passionate about amplifying community voices and influencing development agencies and governments toward more inclusive and locally led approaches to peace, justice, and social transformation. Her academic and professional contributions reflect a dedication to advancing feminist and rights-based programming, while strengthening accountability and learning systems in complex and politically sensitive contexts.
