On 27 June 2017 the Founder and Executive Director of ACCORD, Dr Vasu Gounden, attended the 241st Independence Day celebration held in Durban and co-hosted by the Charge d’ Affaires
Strengthening ECCAS’ Mediation Support Capacity through provision of technical expertise.
Dr. Gounden worked with President Masire on the Democratic Republic of Congo peace process.
Dr. Vasu Gounden gave a presentation to visiting UNMISS delegates on South Africa’s experience of reconciliation and conflict management.
