On 25 May 2020, in celebration of Africa Day, the Founder and Executive Director of ACCORD, Dr Vasu Gounden, was invited as a panelist to the ANC International Relations Department, Africa Day webinar, which was held under the theme of Africa Rising in the midst and aftermath of COVID-19.
Presentations were made on International Solidarity in the time of COVID-19; Continental Cooperation on COVID-19; and a Social Response to COVID-19 focusing on the actions that South Africa has undertaken. Vasu Gounden presented on the topic of Implications of COVID-19 for Peace and Security on the Continent.
