From 17-21 November 2025, ACCORD participated in the validation workshop of Malawi’s Country Structural Vulnerability and Resilience Analysis (CSRVA) and Country Structural Vulnerability Mitigation Strategy (CSVMS) held in Lilongwe, Malawi.
The validation workshop was hosted by the Government of Malawi, the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and the African Union (AU). The validation workshop worked through the CSRVA report and the various outcomes, focusing on the vulnerabilities, resilience factors and mitigation measures identified. These outcomes relate to specific thematic areas such as human rights and the rule of law, the security sector, socio-economic development, climate change and the environment, gender and youth and conflict management and peacebuilding. The vulnerabilities, resilience factors and mitigation measures were discussed at length throughout the week in order to evaluate their accuracy and their applicability to the current context in Malawi.
ACCORD provided technical support to Malawi’s CSRVA process and will continue to support the government of Malawi, COMESA and the AU during this process.
