ACCORD continues its collaboration with the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region by signing a Memorandum of Understanding

Reaffirming commitments and promoting peacebuilding in the region.

On 1 November 2023, the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) represented by Executive Secretary, Ambassador João Samuel Caholo and the African Centre for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes (ACCORD) represented by Founder and Executive Director, Dr Vasu Gounden, reaffirmed their commitment to work together on issues relating to mediation, dialogue, conflict prevention, preventive diplomacy and peacebuilding in the region. 

The renewed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on the margins of the two-day Regional Retreat that focused on reviewing the impact of the Peace, Security, and Cooperation Framework for the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the region, which was held in Durban, South Africa on 31 October and 1 November 2023. 

ACCORD looks forward to working with ICGLR towards contributing to peace on the Continent.
