Paidamwoyo Mudzimuirema

Media & Communications Officer

Paidamwoyo Mudzimuirema joined ACCORD as Communications Intern in March 2021 and has since become a Media and Communications Officer. She has done work on how new digital technologies shape societies, politics and individual lives ,including curbing fake news on social media, access to information, and social media advocacy.

She has also been involved with youth engagement and youth participation on various continental and global processes, worked on various campaigns, involving women and youth activities. Her interests are documenting stories and using digital spaces to help tell progressive stories of those bringing lasting change to their communities and the African continent. She is also involved in spotlighting the need to provide a space and voice for youth to set and drive their own agenda, and to promote the involvement of young people as key partners in the implementation of the African Union Agenda 2063 as well the UN Agenda 2030 for sustainable development.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies, majoring in Political Science and Media. She also has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Media and Cultural Studies, focusing on strategic corporate communication and journalism, from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN). During her studies at UKZN she served as a Public Relations Officer for the International Students Association.
