Using peer-to-peer learning as a means to strengthen monitoring and evaluation practices.

ACCORD was invited to present and participate in the Monitoring and Evaluation workshop, hosted by
the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Pretoria, on 17 November 2022.

ACCORD’s General Manager Ms. Karishma Rajoo and Ms. Savannah Wilmot, Programme Officer,
represented ACCORD at the workshop. Their presentation provided an overview on reporting outcomes
and outputs and as well as the process of developing SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant
and Time-bound) indicators. ACCORD was able to share some of the tools that have been developed to
strengthen both the monitoring, and evaluation processes within the institution. Presentations from
other organisations covered the development of theories of change; and how to use research to inform
programme design.

The workshop was an opportunity for peer-to-peer learning among organisations that are supported by
the Embassy. Additionally, the participants gained technical expertise from the facilitating organisation,
Reos Partners, who specialise in using an evidence-based approach to evaluation processes.
