Cedric de Coning (South Africa) is Senior Advisor and Chief Editor of the COVID-19 Conflict & Resilience Monitor at ACCORD. He is also a Research Professor in the Peace, Conflict and Development Research Group at the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs (NUPI), where he coordinates the Effectiveness of Peace Operations Network (EPON) and co-directs the NUPI Center for UN and Global Governance. Cedric has a PhD from the Department of Philosophy at the University of Stellenbosch. Recent publications include: Insights from Complexity Theory for Peace and Conflict Studies (2020); Adaptive Peacebuilding (2018); UN Peace Operations in a Changing Global Order (2018); Rising Powers and Peacebuilding (2017), Understanding Peacebuilding as Essentially Local (2013), and The BRICS and Coexistence: An Alternative Vision of World Order (2014). His publications are available on cedricdeconing.net and he tweets at @CedricdeConing.
