Capacity building workshop with members of the National Committee in charge of the implementation of the CAR Peace Accord

In support to the implementation bodies of the Political Agreement for Peace and Reconciliation in CAR (APPR RCA) both at national and provincial levels, ACCORD CAR Office conducted a two day capacity building workshop from 16-17 March 2021 with members of the National Committee in charge of the Implementation of the peace accord (CMON).  The National Committee in charge of the Implementation of the APPR RCA is one of the Peace Accord Implementation Mechanisms. CMON members are composed of male and female officials selected from key government institutions and representatives of armed groups that are still committed to the ten long days CAR Peace Accord negotiated in Khartoum and signed in Bangui on 6 February 2019.

At strategic level, CMON is the backbone of the implementation of the peace process at national level whose objectives are to coordinate and supervise the activities related to the implementation of the peace process conducted at grass roots levels in sixteen (16) provinces of CAR.  During the workshop, CMON members have been trained on topics related to conflict analysis, mediation, simulation exercises on mediation and negation techniques. At the end of the workshop, participants will be equipped with skills and knowledge required to move forward the implementation of the peace process which was recently undermined by a series of armed rebels’ attacks and help CAR restore peace and security.
