Zoe Mafoko

Zoe Mafoko is a former Intern at ACCORD. She has completed a Bachelor of Journalism (with Distinction), majoring in Communications, Politics and International Studies. Ms. Mafoko brings with her a wide-ranging professional history, having interned with the Mail & Guardian, the Daily Maverick, Carte Blanche, the South African Broadcasting Commission and Volume Africa. A member of the Golden Key Honours Society, Ms Mafoko used her time as student to assume numerous positions of leadership which included being a Board Member – Student Parliament Nominee of the Rhodes University Independent Electoral Board, working in Campaign Management for prospective members of the Student Representative Council as well as serving as Media and Communications Officer for Rhodes Model United Nations and Community Engagement Representative on her residence house committee. Ms Mafoko is proud to have represented South Africa at the 2019 World and Afro-Arab Youth Forums and having been selected as a delegate for the 2019 Arab and African Youth Forum Platform and 2018 UNESCO “Let’s Heritage” Conference.

Her areas of interest are in Women, Peace and Conflict in the context of Africa.
